Welcome to ISH

The International School of Hellerup is a Not-For-Profit IB World School for students aged 3-19. We welcome over 600 students representing more than 70 nationalities and we deliver an excellent, well-rounded education in a caring and supportive learning environment.

IB Continuum School

ISH is an IB Continuum school, offering the three main International Baccalaureate programmes: the Primary Years Programme (PYP), Middle Years Programme (MYP) and Diploma Programme (DP), and the benefits of a learning continuum that is philosophically aligned and consistent in its approach to teaching and learning from early years through high school.

Mission & Values

"Our mission is to provide the highest quality education in a student-centred environment by empowering our students to fulfill their human potential to become purposeful life-long learners and responsible global citizens."

Beyond the Classroom

Our students are provided with many opportunities to enjoy a rich school life beyond the classroom. We offer a wide array of clubs and activities, ranging from sports to music, drama and dance, robotics, student government and much more. Our enriching service-learning programme allows students to make a difference locally and internationally.

After School Care Programme

We offer a Morning Club and an After School Care Programme (ASCP) for students in Pre-K - PYP 4 (ages 3-9+). The ASCP is a dedicated children’s space where students experience learning, play and exploration in a caring and nurturing environment. The ASCP staff is dedicated to the well-being of each child and works closely with the Primary School teaching staff in order to provide the best experience for our students.

ISH provides a healthy and safe learning environment where children feel secure and are listened to, taken seriously and responded to appropriately. Students engage in learning activities that help them identify their strengths, pursue their interests and develop resiliency. Children at ISH should know that there are adults in the school whom they can approach if they are worried or have difficulties.

We are proud of our welcoming and supportive community where student, teachers, parents and alumni all play an important role. Through the diverse activities and events offered by the Parent Teacher Association (PTA), families form friendships and parents get to support learning opportunities at our school. You will find that ISH is a very welcoming community and that new students very quickly feel at home here.

Being a medium-sized school allows us to offer a wide range of academic and extracurricular opportunities to our students while remaining a community where everyone knows each other

Nationalities in the Student Body

Our students learn in a multicultural community where each person is respected regardless of nationality, race or religion.

Student-Teacher Ratio

Our small classes enable our teachers to know each student and their skills, strengths and learning styles well.
