Our Curriculum

The International School of Hellerup is an IB World School, and one of two schools in Copenhagen that offers the three main programmes of the International Baccalaureate (IB): the Primary Years Programme (PYP), the Middle Years Programme (MYP) and the Diploma Programme (DP).

In order to teach IB programmes, schools must be authorised by the International Baccalaureate Organization (IBO). ISH received authorisation for the IB Diploma Programme and IB Middle Years Programme in 2015 and for the IB Primary Years Programme in 2016.

Being an IB Continuum school allows us to offer the unique benefits of an inquiry-centered, transdisciplinary and skills-focused learning continuum from early years through high school.

IB Mission Statement

The International Baccalaureate® Organization (IBO) aims to develop inquiring, knowledgeable and caring young people who help to create a better and more peaceful world through intercultural understanding and respect.

To this end, the organization IBO works with schools, governments and international organizations to develop challenging programmes of international education and rigorous assessment.

These programmes encourage students across the world to become active, compassionate and lifelong learners who understand that other people, with their differences, can also be right.
